Report on the cornfield across the road # 4

It is so dry.   Crops are in serious trouble.   The farmers call the current condition of the  corn as  “spikey”.  Normally the corn’s long broad leaves droop down.  When the plant is in dire need of water the leaves curl up towards the sky and become thin reeds, hoping to catch any moisture and funnel into down to the corn’s roots.   No rain in the forecast.  This is not good.  The poor framers.
