Swatting deer flies

I think I write a rather positive blog.  I try not to complain on-line about being too hot or too tired.   But, please allow me to indulge in a little whine right now.   Here goes….

Those fuck’n deer flies are driving me crazy this summer.  They are really cramp’n my walks with Molly.   We head out all relaxed, enjoying nature.  Everything is lovely when all of a sudden you feel a tap on the back of your head.  Then you see a little shadow orbiting around you.   They dive in and tap again.  Then they land on top of your head.

I look over at Molly and they are landing on her ears.  She shakes her head and tries to catch them in her mouth.

The tranquillity of the walk is now lost.   It becomes all about the deer fly.   I swat the air and  swipe the back of my head repeatedly.  Molly tries to out run them and only gets hotter.   “Let’s just head home,  Molly”.     I know, I know.  I live on a marsh.  What do I expect?  I just hate them and wanted to let someone know it is not all heaven here, all the time.

Thank you for hearing me out and allowing me to rant.
