Today, is the start of a long summer weekend. The weather is hot with no chance of rain. In other words, this is “The Weekend” we dream and wait for all year. The little country road outside our house is heavy with traffic. Cars stuffed up to their ceilings, trucks pulling campers and boats, and cyclists are all rushing down the road to Sandbanks Provincial Park.
It is also the perfect opportunity to sell off two of our boats. We finally brought our three boats home from Fenelon Falls yesterday. We had been storing them with friends until we had our garage finished or a place to put them. (neither is available)
Originally we had thought we would put in a marine railway at our waterfront for the big boat. Now, with all of the bulrushes and lily pads our water does not look very boatable.
If truth be told, Warren and I have never been keen boaters. We are both kind of scared of boating. On top of that, in spite of regular maintenance, our boats always breakdown at the most inconvenient times – ( ie in the middle of a large rough lake or fast moving river). Every year we pour a fortune into the upkeep and never use the thing.
It is time to put the boats up for sale.
We have a 18′ inboard Montaerey Montura bowrider and a small kayak to offer.
So we were up early this morning, washing boats and creating “For Sale” signs out of pink neon bristol board.
Bring on the tourist. We offer the deal of the summer!
PS – we are also interested in a trade if you have an Everglades swamp air boat.
That would be cool.
I love the idea of you guys in an Everglades swamp boat!
There is one in Wellington, but it is not for sale. Warren loves his engines loud so this would be perfect.
