Bling

I can’t wait. It is not finished but I must show you my upstairs bathroom, as it now stands.  It is so very sexy.

Here is a “before” picture …. small, cramped, a tub, no shower, ugly paint colour, ugly floor.   So gross…

We gutted.  All of the old plaster and lath was removed.  We expanded the room out into the next room to allow space for a large, glass doored shower, (complete with  wonderful rain forest, pulsating shower head).     Foam installation was blown in.  The room was rewired and we added  four pot lights and two sexy-as-all-hell crystal wall fixtures.  The photos do not show the wall fixtures well, but they are long 6″ sparkly pieces of glass hanging from a silver box.

The new floor is black marble.      …… oooooo sexy

We found an antique cherry wood wash stand.  I have placed an antique silver tray on top to hold any wet toiletries.

The sloped ceiling was a bit of a challenge but we found a nice art deco style mirror which sit snuggly under the slope.

Benjamin Moore’s “Woodlawn Blue” HC-147 was used on the walls.  It is a historical colour and fits well with the house.

Still to come –

Paint the old window grills black.

It still needs towels, bath mat and window treatment.   For that I am hoping to find a fabric with a black and silver wide stripe.. Something elegant with a “turn of the century look”.

Do you like my blingy, sexy bathroom?
