This house came with a large solarium attached to the back. It is huge. Made of glass, it soars about 22 feet high, and 30 feet out. It’s the real deal because it comes with automatic temperature control which opens and closes the roof depending on the heat.
Warren and I have never had a plan for the solarium. It was not one of the charming features that first attracted us here. It just came with the house. We have found it to be a great catch-all for our extra stuff. We have patio furniture there now and it is really a nice place to sit on a cold windy day. Nice and toasty. We tend to settle there for our cocktail hour and watch the sun set. The rhubarb plant I brought in a pot from the cottage is certainly thriving.
Of course the kids suggested growing some pot.
Anyway, just because it is there, and this is the season, I decided to plant a few seeds this week. I now have trays of basil, rosemary, garlic chives, thyme, dill and coriander/cilantro. Stay tuned….. I may add more.
Who knows. I may set up at stand on the highway in front of my house and sell dill to the tourists – just cause I’m a local now.. don’t ya know.
