Last weekend we christened the new house and had four over night guests – all family. There was a flurry of preparation for Warren and I. First we had to haul away the mess Warren had made the previous week when he deconstructed the upstairs hall – lath and plaster! Another war on the house’s spiders and their cobwebs. (What is with that? They are everywhere) We brought two beds from Toronto and bought a new queen size bed in Belleville. These required setting up and making. We wanted everyone comfortable.
It was wonderful to have all the family together under one roof. This rarely happens, as Warren’s daughter and granddaughter live in Edmonton. On Saturday night, after all of the supper dishes were cleaned away and I sat in front of the glowing fire, I counted my blessings. It had been a wonderful, rich day.
