Me and trees

Me and trees have had a thing going for years.   I love them.  If I had to chose one thing to be passionate about, it would be trees.  I think I have taught my kids to appreciate them as well.   We use to have a favourite big tree at the corner of Tauton Road and Lakeridge Road. It stood proudly in the middle of a field surrounded by short, silly apple trees. We drove pass this wonderful tree every trip to the cottage and we would always comments on this size and majestic nature.  Sadly it was struck by lightening and the farmer was forced to take it down.   The field looks empty now and I’m sure that each of us in the car is still thinking of this old great tree and missing it. Image

This is one of the knarly old oaks on our property, down by the water.

One of the many things that attracted me to this property at West Lake are our trees.   They are awsome.  Huge, towering and very old.  Everywhere you look is a keeper.  Maples, Chestnuts, old Oaks all soarilng over head.  I’m in love.

This is our view when sitting on the front porch.  Its not technically “my” tree, but I will love it all the same.
